Saturday I celebrated my first birthday, and boy was it a busy weekend! Mommy can hardly believe a year has already passed by, but it seems like a lifetime to me . My birthday began by mommy and mawmaw taking me to J.C.Penney's to get my birthday photos taken. I appropriately wore a fluffy pink tutu and a "birthday princess" shirt in honor of my birthday. I sat very well for my pictures, though I got tired of smiling a little over half way through. Mommy gets to pick them up in another week or so, and she says she will post them here when we get them. After the pictures, I was very tired, so I took a nap in the car while mommy and mawmaw picked up the balloons and cake for my party. We got home with just enough time to set everything up before my guests arrived. We planned my party at home, and invited some of our closest family and friends. The house was pretty packed but it was full of love, so it felt pretty cozy to me. I received many new toys, books, and pretty outfits that I am really enjoying, as well as some savings bonds that daddy tells me I will enjoy later. After presents it was time for cake. I started out cautiously, because I wasn't sure if I was really allowed to eat it, but after mommy said it was okay, I dug in. Boy was that some good cake!
After my birthday party, we went to church. Vespers was special that night because Bishop Job was in town to ordain Fr. Nicholas Finley to the priesthood. Now that I am mobile, I get very restless at church. I just don't like to sit still anymore, so mommy often takes me to the back and lets me crawl.
